We were used to hear that Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation was mainly addressing health problems in developing countries (malaria), which is absolutely great. According to Jeff Raikes, CEO of the Foundation, it seems they are now broadening their vision and understanding that poverty is the central issue of economic development and why it is so difficult to eradicate.
At Mundum Nostrum Foundation, we think that developing countries will never get rid of poverty and all the associated evils such as poor health, poor education, criminality, corruption, prostitution, … unless the basic infrastructures that can trigger economic take-off are implemented. Any other help is just pouring water in a bottomless bucket.
I hope we can join our energies to work together for the benefit of those so much in need.
